USAID Climate Ready

The VBRC is established on 8^th October 2017 in Port Vila under the responsibility of VCCI. The VBRC Executive Committee will be composed of up to eleven (11) members who are nominated by the members of VBRC.

The functions of the VBRC will include:

· Establishing the VBRC and its Secretariat as a standing committee of the VCCI;

· Creating and managing a contact database of members and associate members;

· Developing a VBRC organisational structure.

Business Continuity Preparedness (BCP) Trainings

In collaboration with the USAID Climate Ready Project, the VBRC / VCCI delivered a series of trainings throughout the country on Business Continuity Planning (BCP) to support local private sector businesses in Vanuatu to improve their disaster preparedness.

FY2019 funding of USD 20,000 was provided to support BCP workshops and trainings in four provinces across the country.
FY2020 funding of USD 25,000 was provided to further support BCP activities, including implementation in the two remaining provinces.
Additional funding was provided in March 2020 to help deliver awareness events on private-sector preparedness for the COVID-19 pandemic.
